Welcome fourth-grade families! My name is Ms. Simington, and I am really looking forward to this year! We are about to embark on an adventure together as we create a classroom that is full of learning, fun, and community.
This year we'll learn about electricity, study the physics of roller coasters, and race isopods (that is, roly-polys). In math, we'll become strong problem solvers through games, puzzles, and riddles. And we will write, write, write--about ourselves, the world around us, and things we haven't even imagined yet.
This website and blog is just one of the ways we will be encouraging connections between home life and Westlake life. Pictures, blog entries, and classroom work will hopefully provide a window into what's happening in the classroom so that parents can see what we're learning about and get familiar with room 17's layout and schedule. We'll talk more as a community about how this website will work!
I'm including some sneak-peek pictures of room 17--all it needs now is YOU! So make sure you get a good night's sleep, and be sure to eat breakfast! There's so much to do, and I'm so very glad we're getting started right away!
